Kendal Mountain Campsite

The Kendal Mountain Campsite is part of the Kendal Mountain Festival and a collaboration between Kirkbie Kendal School and Ourea Events with support from our partners Terra Nova and CampWild.

The Kendal Mountain Campsite offers both camping and campervan options for visitors to the Kendal Mountain Festival. Primarily, this is a ‘walk-in’ campsite for festival visitors to bring their tents to camp on the school playing fields, and we hope to encourage sustainable travel to the festival. There is some limited campervan parking on areas of hard standing. We also offer pre-erected tents that visitors can hire. There is access to the school sports facilities, such as toilets and showers, and a large marquee-covered area to provide shelter for campers to cook and socialise.

  • Bring your own tent

  • Hire a pre-erected tent

  • Stay in your campervan

The Kendal Mountain Campsite can only operate outside school hours.

We want to highlight that the Kendal Mountain Campsite is a ‘WALK-IN’ campsite. There are no car parking facilities and no space for vehicles to drop-off/collect, and because the campsite is on the school playing fields, there is a strict NO DOGS policy.

The photos below are illustrative of what we expect the atmosphere at the Kendal Mountain Campsite will be like. They are not images of the actual campsite, as this will be our first year of offering this facility.

We have a range of pre-erected and brand-new Terra Nova and Wild Country tents. These tents are the tried-and-tested large air-beam family camping tents used by Ourea Events on the Dragon’s Back Race® and Cape Wrath Ultra®.
